River guardians (Guardianes del río)
Rotary International reached out to me with the following project: To empower seven communities residing in the vicinity of the Buena Aventura Natural Reserve, operated by the Jocotoco Foundation in Ecuador. The objective was to conduct educational sessions on the effects of river pollution and proper river conservation practices. The ultimate goal was to preserve the initial phase of this project, which involved the reproduction and planting of 30,000 endemic trees within the natural reserve.
To accomplish this ambitious endeavor, I assembled a team of professionals, including a local sociologist with expertise in educational communications in the region, an environmental engineer experienced in reforestation efforts in the area, an environmental consultant skilled in international projects, a graphic designer specializing in promotional materials, and a post-production audiovisual expert.
My role entailed conceptualizing the project, leading the team, coordinating the logistical aspects of the workshops, and documenting the entire process through video and photography. The attached documentary provides a comprehensive account of the project's evolution and its outcomes.
